Well Nate had to go to Children's hospital today to have an ultrasound done on his kidneys as they think he might have a horseshoe shape kidney. The issue if that is the case is he can not do any contact sports as a horseshoe shape kidney crosses over his spine and one hit and that would be his kidneys toast! YIKES!!!
Well during the ultrasound we saw the kidney all healthy and good on the right but when the tech looked for the kidney on the left and there was nothing there I started to get scared. I asked the tech if by any chance that both kidney's are on the right side. She asked me why would I ask that and I told her that it's because Pete has both kidney's on the right side. She brought int he D. and he FINALLY found the second kidney and sure enough it is fused to the right kidney, just like Pete's! I think it is called a "Crossed-fused Renal Ectopia". Basically the left kidney is attached to the bottom of the right kidney and it comes down and crosses over his belly to just below his belly button. At this point we are not concerned as Pete has the same thing and he's never had any issue with it his whole life.
On a happy note for me today (Saturday May 17th) Nate's umbilical cord stub fell off! WHOOT! Man it was really freaking me out and if it bleed ed (which is normal) would make me cry (still blaming the dame hormones, LOL). Nate has an innie ;)

My first Mother's Day
Even thou Nate is only 13 days old I still get to celebrate my very first Mother's Day! Bring on the presents!!!
Pete took us to Tiffany's on Saturday and the necklace he picked out is on back order for 10 weeks and I didn't want to wait the 10 mins just to see a sales associate so we left empty handed. AUGH! No little Blue Box for me, *cry
So we hung out at home and then we went to the mall and Pete bought me a beautiful Mother's Day card that made me cry (can I still blame the hormones???) and then he spoiled me with my choice of Purdy's Chocolates. I could of had Godiva but I think Neena converted me to Purdy's, hee hee hee.
Thank you to all of you who called and sent e-mails, makes this new momma feel special.
Here is Nate and me on my very first Mother's Day...
Daddy gives Nate his first EBM Bottle!
Well after 40 mins of pumping HELL! All I got was 1 ounce of boob juice =( dear good that was painful. So pretty much it was treated like liquid gold.
On Friday I warmed up the milk and gave it to Pete to give Nate his very first bottle from Daddy. The little pig inhaled it in less then a few minutes and on to the boob he went, lol. It was nice to be able to watch Pete feed Nate (oh I'm getting all squishy inside)
Here is Daddy doing the honors...

A Poem for Nate from Auntie Cindy
Worthwhile Task
Cindy Curtis
A woman joins a special clan
When first her baby holds her hand
She stares into its newborn eyes
And then begins to realize
The import of the task ahead
The lifelong journey in her stead
But presently she’s full of grace
She loves his lips, his cherub’s face
She’ll get caught up in all the things
That being a new mom always brings
She’s always known that change would come
When one becomes a brand new mum
Soon enough she’ll start to see
That parenting a man-to-be
Takes more than love and adoration
The job demands real obligation
Consistency and tough decisions
A kind of strength hard to envision
It’s more than simply saying “No”
Ignoring fits and tantrums - though
That is a start, one sorely needed
By parents whose fight is already conceded
Raising a boy is no job for a wimp
Creating a man from a sweet little imp
For now rest assured that there is still time
Gaze with affection on his little behind
Soon ‘twill be red, more often than not
As the real boy emerges from your little tot
But as a woman I’ve found there is no greater joy
Than helping to grow a man from a boy
