It's a Girl!!!

We are excited to introduce our new baby girl born October 28th at 8:24 am, she weighs 6 pounds 14 ounces and 19.25 inches long. A little smaller then her brother but taller ;)
After 2 days we have a name for her...
Alexis Taylor Christina, she is named after a few people. Alexis is a version of Alexandria/Alexandra which is the female version of the name used on my dad's side and my Grandfather and Great Great grandfathers name, as well as her Uncle Kev's middle name and Nate's middle name. Taylor is my dad's middle name and Christina is after her Daddy's middle name (female version thou) and it even has "Tina" in it for our dear friend who passed away 4 years ago. Big name for such a little person, hee hee hee.
The c-section went great and she was perfect! No issuses from all the drama of a positive screen. Little Miss scored a perfect 5/5 on her Apgar test and she is 100% normal (OK, she is related to me so as normal as normal can be, HA HA HA!) and my recovery has been much faster this time. I think that is due to I know what to expect so less fear. Got a private room and I could have gone home the next day but the room service is so nice that I stayed an extra day, hee hee hee.
Pete and I are so in love with this little one and Nate... well we'll see how he adjusts to this new little person in our house. After all he is a big Brother now =)

NO WAY!

So I run into a co-worker at of all places... "Babies R Us"!!! Go figure, ha ha ha. She is due next week and as we chatted she told me that we get covered for a private room through our extended medical coverage??? Wait a minute, I looked into this and I could have sworn I called the company and was told no. I called my HO as soon as I left the store and sure as shit we ARE covered! OMFG! Well I can't complain as we did have the room all to our self's the first 2 nights with Nate and it was only on night 3 that we had a roommate, a roommate from HELL!!! OK that may be a bit harsh but a crying baby that is not yours really can frazzle your nerves. So this time around as it is first come first serve on the private rooms we are going to be pushing for one. I think I may put the bug in my OBGYN's ear that if I don't get one I'm gonna be a cranky bitch, hee hee hee. I've heard he has pull so why not use it to my advantage? Then again after my appointment this week that may not happen as I had Nate with me and when Dr. Mark came in the room Nate FREAKED out. It only got better when I got on the table and Nate was sitting on my lap and Doc went to check my blood pressure... Nate spazzed out and slapped at Doc! YIKES! Someone is either not liking another man touching Mommy and is showing his "Y" chromosome, HA HA HA! It was kinda sweet and after he left the secretary came in and he was all smiles and giggles for her. I think I have a flirt on my hands?
2 weeks to go and I can't wait. Starting to get excited to meet this little person and know I'm starting to wonder... Boy? or Girl? what do I want? How will Nate react to a Boy verses a Girl? So many questions and we haven't even thought of names, hee hee hee. Oh well, it will give me something to do in the hospital, ROFL!

Embarrassing Moments...

Oh I'm sure this is is just one of MANY more embarrassing moments to come...
It was a beautiful day that I had a play date with Nate so off we went to North Van for shoe shopping and we hit the jackpot, $50 frigin dollars later! Man I haven't even spent that on my shoes, ROFL. But he didn't complain and was running around the store like a freak so it was a done deal.
Next we headed down to Lonsdale Quay for lunch and some playtime. Had a very nice lunch of Fish n Chips which Nate's newest achievement is using a fork and he's very good at it. That was until this happened... he was trying to get a french fry on the fork with a skill full slow motion stab but the french fry had other ideas. It was launched into the air with a force that I didn't even know a fry could have!!! I look at the table behind Nate right in my view as one of the women sitting there looks at me and I ask sheepishly... "did you see that?" She nods her head and says "yes, what was it?" The other lady says "what?" I giggle as I feel my cheeks light up a crimson red and say "my son just launched a french fry into the air and I don't know where it landed..." A few seconds later the second lady announces "here it is!" as she pulls it out of her salad. OMFG! I wanted to die but I couldn't help but laugh cause it was pretty funny. I apologized and she was all good with it but deep down inside I was crawling under a rock dragging Nate behind me, HA HA HA! Oh the joys of kids.
We checked out the play area upstairs and all it is is a ball pit with one spiral slide. Well off came the new shoes and mommy throws Nate into the balls. He sat there throwing balls and enjoying himself when I decide he should try the slide, hee hee hee. So not age appropriate but hey he'll learn fast right? Well we make our way up the stairs and get to the top and I look into the slide which is completely dark as it's a tube of death to a toddlers, I'm sure of it, hee hee hee. I figure Nate would balk and not go in but he sits down and scoots forward and down he goes! There is a weird noise and I think he's gotten stuck and I bolt down the stairs only to hit my head on a low beams cause I'm about 3.5 feet too tall for this play area, HA HA HA... As I look at the bottom of the slide Nate pops out face first on his stomach o_O !!! Oh my, I guess that noise was him spinning around in the spiral, ha ha ha. Well he didn't cry and he even went for a second ride but this time he was sitting up when he came out the bottom so he did learn. We played for a little while but I got bored fast so off we went for a walk outside in the beautiful sunshine before we had to come home.
I love my playdates with Nate.
